Montrose Fire District

The National Firewise Communities Program provides wildland/urban interface resources for firefighter safety, community planning, landscaping, construction, and maintenance to help protect people, property, and natural resources from wildland fire. The goal of Arkansas Firewise is to spread information that will enable Arkansans to become more "firewise" and firesafe when living in or near forested or undeveloped areas. Ashley County is the FIRST county in the nation to earn countywide Firewise Communities USA recognition from the National Firewise Communities Program.
